Applications for the Washington State Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs are being accepted through the end of May.
Commission members are appointed by the governor to serve three-year terms. The open positions will become available June 30, 2010.
The Governor’s Office is looking for diversity in commission membership. Applications are on the Governor’s Website (www.governor.wa.gov/boards/default.asp). They’re also available by contacting the commission at 360/725-5667.
The Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs was established by the state legislature in 1974 to improve the well-being of Asian Pacific Americans by insuring their access to participation in the fields of government, business, education, and other areas. It has a board made up of 12-governor appointed members that represent the diverse communities of Washington State.
