Raising charitable support to bridge the alarming gap between those who can afford legal representation and those who cannot, LAW Fund has been able to contribute over $15 million to support civil legal aid programs in Washington State since its inception.

Because no one should have to face a legal crisis alone, LAW Fund seeks a Development Assistant who can help us provide the solution.

The Development Assistant oversees much of the daily administrative functioning for Washington state’s growing collaborative fundraising efforts for 26 civil legal aid programs, and reports to the Director of Legal Aid for Washington Fund (“LAW Fund”). Primary responsibilities will include maintaining a database of more than 15,000 donors and donor prospects for fundraising and public relations endeavors; producing appeals, acknowledgements, pledge reminders and other fundraising materials; working with volunteers, assisting with fundraising events; scheduling meetings and appointments; researching corporate and foundation grants; updating and maintaining program website (www.c4ej.org) and social networking pages; and other duties as required.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree or 2 years related experience in non-profit fundraising,  solid experience with data management principles and practices, Experience with eTapestry a plus, practical experience using Outlook and Excel, proficiency in the use of Word with excellent writing and editing skills, business arithmetic and basic statistical techniques; experience with donation processing functions a plus; demonstrated ability to organize own work, coordinate projects, set and communicate priorities, meet deadlines and follow up on assignments with a minimum of direction; use initiative and independent judgment within policy and procedural guidelines; and communicate effectively with co-workers, contributors, board members and the public.
