Job Description: 

This position reports to the Director of Development and Special Evetnts, surpervises one staff, and plans, manages, and executes:

  • Splash! gala auction, a "Top 25" charitable sellout $1 million event.
  • Otter Open Golf Classic, President's Dinner, and several other cultivation and donor benefit events including Halloween Party and Finding Vino Wine Tasting.

Please apply if you have:

  • Proven experience in event and/or project management, staff and volunteer supervision.
  • Three to five years of charitable auction/special event experience or similar responsibilities in the hospitality or corporate industry.
  • Strong word processing, accounting, database management, spreadsheets and software applications experience.
  • Unusual combination of people skills and can easily articulate vision, inspire and engage those around you including volunteers.
  • Attention to detail and ability to see and share the big picture.
  • Capacity to manage multiple complex tasks and proven organizational skills executed with a "can-do" energy.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Compensation/Professional Development:

Salary commensurate with experience with annual bonus.  Membership in International Special Events Society and participate in Special Events Table Talks. Benefits include 403B retirement plan participation; escalating vacation plans with two weeks of paid vacation to start; paid sick, personal days and standard holidays; organization paid health benefits including medical, dental, and disability insurance; Seattle Aquarium family membership.
