WELCOME DESK VOLUNTEERS

The Central Library (Downtown Seattle)

The Central Library is seeking additional Welcome Desk volunteers at this time. Welcome Desk volunteers introduce patrons and visitors to the Library's services, events and facilities as well as provide directional information about downtown Seattle. Desired qualifications include customer service experience, strong interpersonal communication skills, a sense of humor, flexibility and an ability to interact with people from all walks of life. A familiarity with downtown Seattle is also helpful.

The following Welcome Desk volunteer shifts will be available beginning in August (or September). A six-month commitment is requested. Volunteer shifts can be scheduled once a week or on alternating weeks. Volunteers can also be scheduled on a substitute basis.

Level 1 Welcome Desk volunteer openings:
Sunday, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Monday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Wednesday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Alternating Thursdays, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Thursday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Alternating Saturdays, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Level 3 Welcome Desk volunteer openings:
Monday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Wednesday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
