The mission of Tasveer is to inspire social change through thought-provoking South Asian films, art and storytelling. Tasveer was founded in 2002, in the aftermath of September 11 th to provide a platform for South Asians to undo stereotypes of South Asians in the mainstream media and to promote social change.
We produce three festivals per year – a women-focused festival, Aaina; the South Asian Litfest; and the Tasveer South Asian Film Festival (TSAFF) - which share the stories of individuals from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The Development Manager is responsible for maintaining and increasing funding via foundation funding, major donors, individual donations, sponsorships, and corporate partnerships. This position is responsible for coordinating development activities for events such as Tasveer South Asian Film Festival (TSAFF), Aaina: South Asian Women Festival, South Asian LitFest, the Tasveer Gala etc. The Development Manager works closely with and reports to Tasveer’s Executive Director and the Tasveer Development Committee.
