Application and Interview Tips

Thank you for your interest in Leadership Tomorrow! Here are some tips to consider when completing your application and preparing for your interview. Your written application is worth a maximum of 20 points, and your interview is worth a maximum of 21 points. We interview everyone who applies to LT.

  • To increase your knowledge of Leadership Tomorrow, review the website, attend a Zoom recruitment event, and/or meet with an LT alum.

  • Be specific in your responses. Typically, the more specific you are, the higher your score.

  • Make sure you are answering the question being asked. Many of the essay prompts and interview questions have multiple parts. Make sure to respond to every part of the question.

  • Closely review LT’s Target Leadership Competencies. These competencies are what we look for in applicants and how we determine your scores for your application and interview.

  • Many of the interview questions build off your application. Devoting adequate time to your written application will also help you prepare for your interview.

  • The Flagship Program requires a level of openness and vulnerability that you may not have experienced in other educational settings. This openness begins with the application. Your willingness to be open about yourself and your experiences demonstrates self-knowledge, which is an important leadership characteristic.

  • After you apply, we recommend attending the Zoom Candidate Orientation on April 5. This online event will be recorded for those who are unable to attend the live event. We will send you the registration information after you submit your application.
