Join Leadership Tomorrow for a hands-on alumni service day at The Hope Factory, where we’ll help build transitional tiny homes for people experiencing homelessness. This volunteer opportunity is open to LT alumni and their guests, ages 16 and older.
The Hope Factory builds transitional tiny homes that offer people experiencing homelessness a warm, safe, dry, and private space while they work toward permanent housing. Since 2018, volunteers have helped build more than 750 homes that are placed in tiny home villages across the region.
Tiny home villages include shared facilities such as kitchens, bathrooms, showers, laundry, and community areas, along with onsite social services. Residents receive personalized support to help them transition into stable, permanent housing.
We’ll begin the day with a brief tour of the warehouse before jumping into build tasks such as prepping materials, building walls, installing flooring or trim, caulking, or painting. Volunteers will work alongside experienced Team Leaders who will teach you what you need to know, including how to use power tools safely. No building experience is required.
